Role Overview

The Growth Marketing Leader will be the first dedicated growth hire, responsible for designing and executing the go-to-market engine to acquire our first thousands of paying users across organic, community, and paid channels including Reddit, LinkedIn, Product Hunt, creator partnerships, and performance marketing. This is a hands-on role for someone who can shape strategy, run experiments, write copy, manage ad accounts, and instrument the funnel from impression to paid subscription

What You’ll Own

  • Develop the overall growth strategy from awareness to free trial to paid subscription, combining community, content, and paid media into one cohesive funnel.​
  • Operate and optimize key organic acquisition channels including Reddit, LinkedIn, Product Hunt, micro‑influencer partnerships, and email, with clear goals for reach, trials, and paid conversions.​
  • Design and own the paid marketing strategy across LinkedIn Ads and Meta (Facebook/Instagram) to supplement community growth, with clear hypotheses around audiences, creatives, and landing experiences.​
  • Build and manage always-on and campaign-based paid programs, including:
    • LinkedIn Ads targeting job seekers, career changers, and advancement-focused professionals with sponsored content and video.​
    • Meta campaigns targeting interests like job search, career development, and résumé writing, optimized for trial signups and lead magnet downloads.​
    • Ongoing creative and audience testing to improve CTR, trial conversion, and CAC.
  • Design and execute lifecycle programs: onboarding flows, trial email sequences, win-back campaigns, referral programs, and upgrade paths for monthly, quarterly, and annual plans.​
  • Own funnel analytics, from impressions (organic + paid) to trials to paid, and systematically improve trial activation and trial-to-paid conversion with fast experimentation.​
  • Partner with founder to refine positioning, messaging, landing pages, and in-product moments that help users document achievements, uncover impact, and craft compelling stories.​
  • Build the early growth and paid media playbook and infrastructure: tracking, attribution basics, benchmarks, dashboards, experimentation cadence, and channel budgets.

Ideal Experience

  • 8+ years in growth, performance, or lifecycle marketing for B2C SaaS or prosumer products, with ownership of both organic/community and paid acquisition.
  • Proven experience acquiring the first 1–10k customers for an early-stage product using community, social, content, and lean paid budgets (e.g., 2,000–5,000 across LinkedIn and Meta).​
  • Hands-on experience running and optimizing :
    • LinkedIn Ads (audience building, creatives, bid strategies, event tracking, and landing page testing).​
    • Meta Ads (campaign structure, interest targeting, creative testing, and conversion optimization for free trials or email capture).​
  • Deep familiarity with at least two of our core organic channels: Reddit, LinkedIn content, Product Hunt launches, and micro-influencer/creator partnerships.​
  • Strong copywriting skills for landing pages, ad creatives, social posts, email sequences, and in-product messages focused on pain, transformation, and clear outcomes.​
  • Comfortable with funnel analysis, cohort views, CAC/LTV modeling, and experiment design, and translating insights into clear next bets.​
  • Bonus: Experience in career tech, coaching, HR/recruiting, or creator-led education, and familiarity with the challenges job seekers and employed professionals face in articulating their value.

What Success Looks Like (First 6–12 Months)

  • A repeatable acquisition engine driving hundreds of monthly trials from 2–3 core organic channels plus calibrated paid campaigns.​
  • Efficient paid programs on LinkedIn and Meta delivering incremental trials at an acceptable CAC relative to first-year LTV, with clear scaling paths.​
  • Trial activation above 50% and trial-to-paid conversion above 20% through optimized onboarding and lifecycle flows.​
  • A growing library of content, creatives, and campaigns (organic and paid) that can be scaled, re-used, or delegated as the growth team expands.
